Undergraduate Outreach

The best way to encourage the public to instill trust in scientists is to provide perspicuous explanations of the chemistry we do. The responsibility I carried with my American Chemical Society - Student Chapter was to stimulate more scientific discussion between the the science community and the public. We faced that obstacle by presenting extremely fun experiments and sharing them at various outreach events. Once kids and parents were engrossed in a spectacle, they were always more interested in discussing the science behind experiments. A few memories from outreach events are showcased below.

Furthermore, our organization reached out to a wide range of companies and schools to come enlighten our members of different opportunities they had for chemists, or to educate us of ongoing research occurring at their facilities. To grow our chapter, we promoted upcoming meetings in the hallways of the chemistry department, through group chats, and communication with our school faculty. The logos listed are some the companies, schools, or service events we recruited or participated in my time involved.
